Take Grandkids to See World’s Top Bull Riders at ‘Unleash The Beast’

Looking for an outing like no other? The PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Gwinnett Invitational, “Unleash The Beast” will ride into town Jan. 21-22, at Gas South Arena and feature more than 40 of the world’s top bull riders. Tickets are on sale now for the live event that is the ultimate showdown of man vs. beast.

This season, PBR will celebrate its 30th anniversary since 20 cowboys broke away from the traditional rodeo with the belief that bull riding could be a stand-alone sport. PBR has since grown into a global phenomenon awarding almost $300 million in prize money.

The upcoming PBR Gwinnett Invitational will mark the eighth event of the new season. The audience will watch as riders vie for early points in the race to be crowned the 2023 PBR World Champion at the end of the season. This will be the 18th time PBR’s premier series has been held in the greater Atlanta area.

Through the years, local audiences have cheered some of the elite champions, including Daylon Swearingen, who competed in Gwinnett last year and clinched the 2022 PBR World Champion title by winning the PBR World Finals. Prize money is significant with Swearingen having earned almost $1.7 million to date, including almost $1.4 million for his career-first PBR World Championship and World Finals events. At 23, Swearingen is now ranked 17th in all-time money earned in PBR competition with career earnings topping more than $2.21 million.

The bulls, who are referred to as “bovine athletes,” get headlines too, with such names as Ridin Solo, Woopaa, Dirty Sancho and Chiseled.

PBR is the world’s premier bull riding organization with more than 500 bull riders competing in more than 200 annual events across televised shows such as PBR Unleash The Beast Tour; the PBR Pendleton Whiskey Velocity Tour; the PBR Touring Pro Division and the PBR’s international circuits in Australia, Brazil, Canada and Mexico.
